Samantha Ferreira, M.S., LMFT

Child Psychotherapist

Samantha Ferreira is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (Texas License #203411 ) with over 10 years of experience helping children, teens, and families forge a safe place to move towards social and emotional health & wellness. Samantha is certified in Parent Child Interaction Training and TF-CBT. She is working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist and is trained in EMDR therapy.

Education & Training
Samantha earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Azusa Pacific University (APU) in Southern California. She graduated with her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University (CBU) in Riverside, CA. Samantha is certified in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) through University of California Davis’s PCIT training center. Samantha is also trained in treating trauma with children and teens. Samantha has taught at the university level in counseling, child psychotherapy and human growth and development for the undergraduate and counseling graduate programs at Azusa Pacific University.

Clinical Experience

Samantha places the utmost acceptance and compassion into her work with children, teens, young adults and families. Samantha began her work with non-profit agencies in the field of birth to five years old, helping strengthen these young children's mental health. She assisted families in building nurturing homes through meaningful interaction in infancy and early childhood. She has extensive experience working with parents and encouraging positive parenting through intentional, goal oriented work. She then continued her work in community mental health in Los Angeles county working with children, teens and groups in school, clinic and field based settings. Samantha conscientiously works to bring out the best in the children and families she sees by non-judgmentally meeting them where they are and walking alongside them to uncover their true potential. Samantha utilizes approaches of attachment theory, play therapy, art therapy, solution-focused treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family systems. She skillfully helps her children and families work through life’s many challenges such a trauma, abuse, neglect, self-harming behaviors, physical aggression, depression, anxiety, grief, and/or loss, relational issues, adjustment difficulties, ADHD, developmental delays, insecurities and divorce recovery.

Samantha mom the cutest little baby boy!  She loves to discover new places in Dallas, meet new people, and take her baby on walks.
